Get the story behind the site and us that are running the show here.
The idea behind this site is to guide you and make your purchase of Mx Ridging Gear or protection easier, and smoother. We have put together a number of pages with information, manufacturers, stores, comparisons, and reviews of the market's best and most secure motocross equipment.
In fact, there are quite a few of us out there who ride either motocross or enduro or maybe both. And with almost 100% security, we can say that you/we have been down - at least once.
When that crash happens, it depends on a variety of factors whether or not we'll get hurt. But the one thing we all can do is to wear good gear and protective equipment.
"Obviously no guarantee to avoid injury - but a really good start "!
Well, it's mostly me, Tobi.
I am the one who writes most of the articles and makes sure everything is running smoothly on the site. But, don't think I can code, because I cant. Luckily, it's barely needed today. Not for this kind of site (WordPress ftw!).
What do I know about mx and enduro then?
Well, I might not be the absolute best at it but almost 30 years of riding must have given something..
What do You think?
After all, you decide if what we are doing here is good and helpful or not. Without you, our visitor, this would not be particularly fun to keep doing day in & day out.
Like many of you out there, I was first introduced to motocross and trail riding by my dad, many years ago.
I’ve always loved the outdoors and started biking at a pretty young age. Since my dad was riding dirt bikes himself it came naturally for him to also include me in that type of bikes.
My first mx bike was an old Suzuki RM80 that dad bought me. This bike, however, was a bit too powerful and scared me quite a bit. I didn't end up riding it that much.
Dad didn't stop there though.
He sold the Suzuki and instead brought home a sweet Honda XR80 4-stroke machine. A bike much more to my liking and he (dad) and the sport had me hooked.
As I got older and went through bike after bike I soon turned 12-13 years old and that is when I got more and more interested in looks, both off and on dirt bikes. The gear, and especially the look of it, was becoming more important.
I went through the different magazines available and saw what the pros and stars of the sport were wearing.
Since money always was a bit tight in our home, dad did his best to please my wishes. Most of the stuff was either used or last seasons series that he bought discounted. For me, that didn't matter too much though.
I especially remember when I got a jersey and pants of the brand AXO. This was the brand that my biggest idol, Damon Bradshaw, wore at the time.
As the years went by my perspective about gear changed quite a bit. Of course, it is still important to look good, but the feel and fit together with the level of safety is now at least of equal importance..
I found myself looking for the best gear online, and what I found was A LOT of information and TONS of options! In fact, it was so much information, that I felt a bit overwhelmed.
I wanted something where I could compare prices, ratings, sizes, weight, brands, and more in an easy to read and use format. You can find a lot of lists or Youtube videos from people sharing what their opinions of what the best motocross gear on the market is; I saw these as just that…opinions.
I appreciate opinions, but I also like looking at the cold hard fact and comparing directly.
"Dissatisfied with the lack of comparison guides for mx gear out there, I decided to create my own."
After spending many hours of research and analysis, I’ve put together a chart with info about riding gear (jerseys, pants & gloves), helmets, boots and protection (neck brace, elbow guards, back protection, roost deflectors and knee guards/braces). It's a complete interactive chart that allows you to view the information you want to see on nearly all of the top products on the market.
My goal with the site here is to give you the information you need in an easy to digest format. So that you can make the best possible decision based on what matters to YOU with mx gear.
As I do more research, I’ll be providing more in-depth reviews of gear, helmets, and boots of my own tests, and create more comparative analysis.
In short, I hope our site here will help you find the best and cheapest gear for you.
